Certainly a very special day for us… We were scheduled to have our baby on February 5th, but he decided he had had enough and wanted out early. He really caught us by surprise since we were all set for Feb. 5th delivery.

So we have a new baby boy! Robin and the baby are doing great.

Born January 31st, 2008 at 5:58am. 7lbs. 14oz. 19″

But what’s his name?

Well up until now everyone in our family has had a terrible time trying to come to a consensus on a name for the new baby. Even with his early arrival we were still undecided…

Our top two choices were Joshua and Jackie. Robin is a huge baseball fan and has always loved Jackie Robinson and all that he accomplished and all that he represents. So Jackie was high on the list of names. But when it came time to decide while we’re staring at our baby at the hospital we finally decided on Joshua. Finally we made a decision. We called our families, friends, etc. and told them all that Joshua had arrived!

So much for being decisive… After I had left to take the kids to dinner, Robin’s sister, Erin, called her and told us a truly incredible fact: Today is Jackie Robinsons’ birthday! Jackie Robinson was born on January 31st, 1919.

Well, how could we not name him Jackie now. It must be fate or destiny or some incredible coincidence…

So everyone, meet Jackie Charles Fong: (He’s Jackie, Robin’s son. OK, I just couldn’t resist…) (We also reserve the right to change his name again at any time…)

The kids were SO excited to meet Jackie!
